NEWS CENTER - The 3-day commemoration events for the 37th anniversary of Halabja Massacre started with a march.
The Halabja Massacre, which was committed by Saddam Hussein on 16 March 1988 and which is a black stain on human history, is on its 37th anniversary. More than 5 thousand people, including children, the elderly and women, were massacred, thousands of people were injured or disappeared in the attack in Halabja, which is located near the Iranian border about 100 kilometres away from the city of Sulaymaniyah in the Federated Kurdistan Region.
On the anniversary of the massacre, commemoration ceremonies are organised all over Kurdistan and the world, especially in Halabja. The commemoration in Halabja started with a march. This year's ceremonies will last for three days, during which many messages will be shared, artictic activities, panels and seminars will be held.
