NEWS CENTER - Women took to the streets in Cizîrê (Jazire) Region against the 9 October International Conspiracy and marched with the slogan "Leader Apo's physical freedom is the key to solution and peace".

 

The march was organised to condemn the 9 October International Conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Women participated in the march with Öcalan's photos and Kongra Star flags. Women marched from the eastern gate of the city to the bazaar centre and demanded Öcalan's freedom with slogans. 

 

North and East Syria Kongra Star Coordination member Gulistan Gulo said: "As women from all components, we know that this conspiracy is against free peoples, especially women. We believe that Leader Apo's ideas are embraced by millions of people. Thanks to her ideas, women have been liberated and are fighting for her physical freedom."

 

Speaking on behalf of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Women's Assembly, councillor Nicûda Faris stated that Öcalan proved that free ideas are bigger than shackles during his imprisonment and said that Öcalan presented the democratic nation project to all peoples in the region. 

 

She concluded: "We are not only moving towards a painful memory of the past, but also towards success. From here we promise to Leader Apo that we will continue our struggle until we realise freedom."
