NEWS CENTER - HPG announced that despite the declaration of a ceasefire, Turkey's air and ground attacks continues.
Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan shared his "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" with the public on 27 February through the İmralı Delegation. The PKK announced on 1 March that it would comply with the call and declared a ceasefire. People's Defence Forces (HPG) Press Centre made a statement on Turkey's ongoing attacks. In the statement published on Fırat News Agency (ANF), it was announced that Turkey continued its attacks despite the ceasefire decision of PKK and HPG. "Our forces have been in a ceasefire position snce the ceasefire declaration and instruction of our party (PKK) and People's Defence Centre Headquarters Command dated 1 March 2025. However, although our forces are in a ceasefire position, the occupying Turkish army continues to attack the guerrilla from the air and ground."
In the statement, the attacks carried out by Turkey since the declaration of the ceasefire were listed as follows:
*On 1 March, our tunnels in Gire Cudi Resistance Area of Martyr Delîl Batı Zap region were bombed 4 times with banned explosives.
*On 1 and 3 March, our tunnels in GirêeAmediye Resistance Area of Martyr Delîl West Zap region were bombed 3 times with drones loaded with explosives.
*Spindare, Gire Mesken, Dereshe and Deshta Kafya areas of Gare region were bombed by warplanes 6 times between 1, 2 and 3 March.
* Between 1 and 3 March, Bere Zine, Lolan, Kendekola Resistance Areas of Khakurke region were bombed 28 times, Deshta Kafya, Dereshe, Spindare, Mije, Girgashe, Gire Zengil, Kane Sarke areas of Gare region were bombed 28 times, Zevke areas 138 times, Sere Metina, Shelaze, Beshili areas of Metina region 173 times, Gire Cudi and Gire Amediye Resistance Areas of Martyr Delil West Zap region 733 times; a total of 1,72 times with heavy weapons and howitzers.
