Many people, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations and political parties, attended the condolence held at the People's Democratic Party (HDP) Esenler District Organization building.
Speaking after the moment of silence for those who lost their lives in the struggle for freedom and democracy, Anatolian Assistance and Solidarity Association with Families Who Lost Their Relatives (ANYAKAY-DER) Co-chairperson Ayhan Yıldız said: "The language and existence of the Kurds have been ignored and banned for centuries. Today, those who do not accept these policies of oppression are fighting. No one can stop the struggle for existence against those who want to leave the Kurds without their will. Those who fought for this cause and lost their lives should know that we will do everything we can to be worthy of them."
'TURKISH STATE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE THEM TAKE A STEP BACK'
Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Marmara Region Co-Spokesperson Dilber Demir stated that the Kurds are resisting the "destruction" policies and noted that the "destruction" policies continue today with the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is held in İmralı Type F High Security Prison. Demir said: "We will not step back from our just struggle until we liberate Mr. Öcalan, who is held in isolation, and our friends who are held in prisons."
