The other side said 'get them out'. Then they first threw the bodies out of the helicopter and then they pushed us and we hit the ground."
Hakkari Governorate stated that Şerali Dereli was killed as a result of an intervention 'in accordance with the legislation' in a statement they made 5 days later, and concealed the details. The relatives of Dereli on the other hand, states that Dereli (61) was killed by the soldiers.
In the report prepared by the Independent MP Ahmet Şık about the dropping of the villagers from the helicopter, Osman Şiban explained what happened and said "They threw us from the helicopter, nearly 150 soldiers lynched us, kicked and punched us... I passed out there."
