Speaking at the Amed Newroz, DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan criticised the policies of the government and said, "Wrong politics does not lead to the right place."
"Let us join hands for a lasting peace and work for the victory of Kurdistan" said PUK Chair Bafel Jalal Talabani in his message to Amed Newroz.
"I hope Abdullah Öcalan will be released in a short time," said KDP Chair Massoud Barzani in his message to Amed Newroz.
A giant poster of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan was paraded around the Newroz area during the glorious Amed Newroz.
Addressing hundreds of thosands of people in Amed, Sebahat Tuncel called on the government to "open the roads of democratic politics" and said, "We want to see Leader Apo here."
Zekiye Alkan, who set her body on fire in 1990 Newroz against the Newroz bans and the oppression on Kurdish people, was commemorated at her grave.
