DÎLOK - Cetin Arkas stated, "We will make peace by understanding each other; this cannot be achieved through unilateral impositions. We want to emphasise this once again. Both sides must face the truth."
Cetin Arkas, Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) member Ayla Akat Ata, Asrin Law Office lawyer Raziye Ozturk attended to the meeting organized in Dîlok's Sehitkamil district by Democratic Institutions Platform. In the meeting slogans such as "Bijî Serok Apo (Long live Leader Apo)", "Thousand Salute to the Imrali", "Jin, jiyan, azadî (Woman, life, freedom)", "Bijî berxwedana zindanan (Long live resistance of the dungeons)" were chanted.
Speaking at the meeting, Raziye Ozturk conveyed the greetings of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan and stated that Abdullah Ocalan had emphasised the need for the rights of the Kurds to be constitutionally guaranteed. She stated that Abdullah Ocalan's physical freedom was a prerequisite for the process to progress healthily, and stressed that conditions must be created for Ocalan to be able to meet with the relevant parties.
Ayla Akat Ata noted that women should be at the forefront of the process, adding that Ocalan has been fighting for this process since the past. Ayla Akat Ata emphasised that, alongside the talks, the public must also organise to advance the process.
Cetin Arkas stated that the freedom of Abdullah Ocalan must be secured and his working conditions improved. He stated that they would not forget the past in order to hold grudges, but rather so that it would not be repeated, and that democratic integration must be achieved. Underlining that isolation continues, Arkas continued: "We will make peace by understanding each other; this cannot be achieved through unilateral impositions. We want to emphasise this once again. Both sides must face the truth."
