One of the detainees, N.B., confessed that he buried Güran in Eğertutmaz Creek. N.B. said: “Narin's uncle, mukhtar Salim Güran (arrested on September 2), brought the body in a vehicle. She was wrapped in a blanket. We put it in a sack together. The mukhtar left. I took the sack to my own vehicle and buried it in the creek bed.”
N.B.'S CONFESSIONS
According to DW's news report; N.B. said that he called mukhtar Salim Güran on August 21 when the water supply was cut off. Claiming that Salim Güran said “I will call the authorities for the breakdown”, N.B. said that he ended the call after a one-minute conversation. Stating that there was a distance of 80-100 meters between the mukhtar and his house, N.B. continued his statement as follows:
“I left the house with my car. Then I saw Salim Güran coming from behind me in a white Renault car with 47 license plates. Exactly at this place, on the inner road of the village, which was paved with parquet, leading from the cemetery to Tavşantepe Neighborhood, Salim Güran honked and flashed his horn at me. Salim Güran pointed to something wrapped in a blanket on the front passenger seat of the vehicle and said 'you will destroy this'. I approached the thing he pointed to and when I looked at it, I saw that there was a person wrapped in a blanket and lying motionless. I was surprised and hesitated when I realized that it was a human being.”
N.B. stated that Salim Güran said to him, “Think well, I will give you 200 thousand Liras” and added that there was no one around and Salim Güran asked him for a bag. N.B. continued his statement as follows: “I took a sack, the color of which I don't remember, out of the trunk of my car and gave it to Salim Güran. We took the child wrapped in a blanket and put him in the sack together. At this time, the child was wearing a black t-shirt and shorts. There was a small bag hanging on him. When we put the child in the bag, there was a rash on her neck behind her right ear.
Before leaving with Mukhtar Salim Güran, he pointed towards the lake, which we call the lake, but he said to take him towards Eğertutmaz Creek and I did not look at what Salim Güran was doing when he left.”
Explaining that he then went down to the place where Narin Güran was found and looked around for a rope, N.B. stated that when he could not find a rope, he tied the mouth of the sack with the rope of the child's bag and left the sack in a shallow place near the tree and said: “Thinking that the sack would be found by someone, I put a stone on it. The size of the stone was around 15-20 kg. There was a stone next to it. I did not put a bush on it because it was covered. Then I got into my car from here and went to my sister-in-law's house.”
Stating that it took half an hour to hide Güran in a sack in the river bed, N.B. said that when he tied the mouth of the sack, he realized that it was Narin Güran. N.B. stated that when the gendarmerie searched around the canal, Salim Güran also entered the canal and searched for show.
