ŞIRNEX - The 6 children of Savaş Çelik, who was detained in Lebanon while trying to go to Europe and brought to Turkey, have been kept in the buffer zone at the Habur Border Gate for 3 days.
Savaş Çelik, who lives in Kop (Bulanık) district of Mûş (Muş), was forced to migrate to Syria in 2016 with his wife and 6 children due to political reasons. Çelik, who was detained in Lebanon in 2022 while trying to go to Europe and brought to Turkey, was arrested by the court and sent to Erzurum Dumlupınar Type T Closed Prison.
After Çelik's arrest, the children's mother could not return for political reasons and the children were left in the middle. Uncle Vasıf Çelik then made attempts to bring the children back to Kop. Uncle Çelik went to the Federated Kurdistan Region to bring his nephews D. Ç. (16), Z. Ç. (14), E. Ç. (12) A. Ç. (9), F. Ç. (10) and F. Ç. (11) to Mûş, but was stranded at the Habur Customs Gate with the children.
3 DAYS THEY HAVE BEEN KEPT WAITING IN THE BUFFER ZONE
Uncle Çelik and his children who were waiting for the procedures to be carried out at Habur Customs Gate received a negative response from Turkey. Turkish authorities claiming that the children's ID cards are old, have not allowed them to cross for 3 days. Uncle Çelik stated that the authorities told him that the mothers of the children should come and that their mothers could not come from where they were due to political reasons and that his nephews were left in the middle.
'WE WANT THE CHILDREN TO BE TAKEN'
Uncle Çelik stated that they have been waiting for 3 days to go to Mûş with the children staying in the buffer zone between the Federated Kurdistan Region and Turkey and said: “These children are my nephews and citizens of this country. They are not processing us at the customs gate. This is unlawful. For 3 days we have been miserable here. We want to be taken to Turkey as soon as possible.”
