NEWS CENTER - Speaking at the commemoration in Xinûs on the 99th anniversary of the execution of Şêx Seîd and his friends, Şêx Seîd's grandson Bedri Fırat said: "Mr. Öcalan continues Şêx Seîd's struggle today."

 

Şêx Seîd and 46 of his friends were executed in Amed (Diyarbakır-Kurdistan) Dağkapı Square (Şêx Seîd) on June 29, 1925. On the 99th anniversary of their execution, commemoration programs were held in many centers for Şêx Seîd and his friends. People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) deputies and members, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) members and executives, as well as Şêx Seîd's grandson Bedri Fırat, attended the commemoration held in Şırnex (Şırnak-Kurdistan) and Erzirom's (Erzurum-Kurdistan) Xinûs (Hınıs) district.

 

Speaking at the commemoration in Xinûs, Fırat said: “We, as the grandchildren of Şêx Seîd, will continue our struggle until the problems of the Kurds are resolved. The only solution for the Kurds is peace. Mr. Öcalan continues Şêx Seîd's struggle today. We want peace to prevail in these lands.”
