NEWS CENTER - It was stated that 2 million people were left without electricity in Northern and Eastern Syria due to Turkey's attacks on electricity stations.
Turkey carried out many air strikes on the cities of Northern and Eastern Syria between January 12-15. Electricity, water, oil and gas facilities were targeted in the attacks.
According to the information provided to ANHA by the Democratic Autonomous Administration Energy Council; Siwêdiya Station in Derik, which meets the electricity and gas needs of Cizîrê Canton, was completely disabled. 7 electricity stations in Cizir and Firat cantons were also out of service.
Ziyad Rustem, Co-Chair of the Autonomous Administration Energy Office, said that the electricity stations in Tirbespiyê, Qamişlo, Amûdê, Dirbêsiyê, Eyn Îsa, Kobanê û Til Temir were out of service during the attacks. Ziyad Rustem noted that 2 million people were left without electricity.
