NEWS CENTER – A Kurd named Mansur Salamat in Iran died as a result of the torture he was subjected to in the detention center where he was held.
A Kurd named Mansur Salamat, who was detained in a security center in the city of Urmia in Iran's Kurdistan province, died as a result of the torture he was subjected to. According to the information shared by human rights organizations operating in the country, Mansour Salamat, who was detained in Pasan village of Targawar region for "possessing a hunting weapon", died after suffering a heart attack as a result of torture.
Regime forces informed Salamat's family that their child died of a stroke due to extreme stress and pressure.
Salamat's body was received by his family and he was buried in his village last night.
Since the beginning of 2023, at least 8 Kurds have been tortured to death in prisons and detention centers of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
