İZMİR - A 10-month visit ban was imposed on the 7 prisoners in Menemen Type T Closed Prison. The relatives of the prisoners will object to the decision.
During the family meeting in Menemen Type T Closed Prison on December 13, the meeting was interrupted as a result of an argument with the guards, and the families were taken out. Prisoners' relatives, who went to visit again yesterday, learned that they had been banned from visiting for 10 months.
CONTACT VISITS ARE BANNED
Relatives of the prisoners were notified that a 10-month visit ban was given by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, as a result of the report taken by the Menemen Type T Prison Directorate following the discussion on December 13.
In the notification, it was stated that "It has been decided to accept and restrict the visits to be held in the institution for a period of 10 months due to the reason of disrupting the order and security of the Penal Institution with the decision to ban visitors; the said decision will be filed against the decision within a period of 15 days from the date of notification, at the Karşıyaka Execution Judgeship."
The names of the political prisoners whose speakers were banned are as follows: Ramazan Işıklı, Harun Yakaç, Ferhan Mordeniz, Mustafa Yalçın, Emre Yalçın, Uğur Yıldız and Talip Yakışır.
THE BAN WILL BE OBJECTED
Emphasizing that a deliberate provocation was made by the prison administration, Altan said: "They want to cut off communication with the prisoners because there is a hunger strike in prisons. There are already isolation and rights violations in the prison. If this situation continues like this, the prisoners' right to health and life will be in danger. This is to prevent worse events from happening. The administration must stay away from such provocative attitudes. We will object to this. I protest and condemn this illegal and illegal attitude of the prison administration."
