STRIP SEARCHES, VIOLENCE, INSULT…
Mentioning in the letter that the prisoners were subjected to strip searches, violence and insults, İlbaş said: "The prisoner Mikail Mungan, who was brought from Bandırma Prison to Tekirdağ Prison No. 2 in September, was subjected to strip searches, severe insults and physical violence at the entrance of the prison. In addition, the prisoners were physically and verbally attacked by the guards while they were taken to the infirmary. İbrahim Aşkan, who was taken to the infirmary for treatment on October 14, was attacked by the guards. The prisoner named Bezat Firik, who was taken to the courthouse on November 7, was insulted because he chatted with a friend while waiting, and shared the information that the prisoner Bezat Firik was fined 2 thousand liras for leaning on the heating radiator."
PRISONERS ARE NOT RELEASED
In his letter, İlbaş said: "The 60-year-old prisoner Kasım Karataş, whose heart is functioning at 30 percent, has been in prison for 32 years, his release has been postponed twice, and he has not been released even though he has completed his sentence. Osman Rehber, Ali Rıza Erdem, Seyhan Kurt, Müslüm Gönül, Kadir Kabalak and Cem Yılmaz, who are in the same prison and have been in prison for 30 years, were not released even though their sentences ended."
LETTERS SENT TO ABDULLAH ÖCALAN WERE CONFISCATED
Sharing that many prisoners were forcibly taken to other rooms, İlbaş said: "The prisoners, Mehmet Sait Dayan, Cemil Doster and Mahmut Denktaş, are held in single cells. In addition, the letters written in Kurdish were also blocked and that 4 letters sent to PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan were also confiscated by the prison administration. Every time they search, they take away our televisions and refrigerators. These problems are only experienced in one block and one month. We are not aware of the problems experienced in other blocks."
