RIHA - Prisoner Baran Eman on hunger strike said: "The only person who can stop war, genocide, assimilation and denial is Mr. Abdullah Öcalan."
Baran Eman (24), who was arrested during the curfew declared on March 14, 2016 in the Nisêbîn district of Mêrdîn and was sentenced to 35 years and 10 months in prison, participated in the hunger strike action carried out within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue" campaign. Prisoner Eman in Diyarbakır No. 1 High Security Closed Prison went on hunger strike with similar demands for 135 days in 2018 and 127 days in 2020.
'WE SHOULD NOT REMAIN SILENT'
Speaking about his last action in a telephone conversation with his family, Eman said: "We are on a hunger strike against the isolation and isolation imposed on the Leader (Öcalan), demanding 'Freedom for the Leader(Abdullah Öcalan) and a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue'. As a Kurdish individual, I too, wherever I am and under whatever conditions I am held." Let me be held, I have to fulfill my responsibility and mission. This is my responsibility towards you, the valuable people. Our request from you is to convey our voice to the whole world. It is the duty and responsibility of every human being to oppose war, genocide, assimilation and denial. Bombs are dropped from planes every day, human values are destroyed. Our beautiful geography is being destroyed and we should not remain silent about all this."
Calling for "solidarity" from all segments of society that defend human rights, Eman said: "There is something everyone can do in this process. Everyone has something to contribute to the process. There is only one person who can stop war, genocide, assimilation and denial; The Kurdish People's Leader who remains on İmralı Island is Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. I believe that if we all join hands, The freedom will be the freedom of the people."
