Both hunger strike actions in prisons and Justice Sit-in actions continue within the scope of the campaign launched to demand the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is held in absolute isolation in İmralı Type F High Security Closed Prison and has not been heard from for 33 months. Justice Sit-in actions and visits continued today in Amed(Diyarbakır), Mersin, Adana, Wan(Van) and Istanbul.
MERSİN
The Justice Sit-in held in the Çukurova TUAY-DER building continues with the participation of Peace Mothers and representatives of non-governmental organizations. Speaking on the 11th day of the Sit-in, one of the participants, Gule Kanpolat, said: "We have been sitting on this council for 11 days. I demand that the isolation imposed on Leader Apo and the prisoners be lifted. We will continue our actions until Leader Apo is free. If Leader Apo is not free, we are not free either."
ADANA
The Justice Sit-in in the AATUHAY-DER building has been going on for 11 days with the participation of Peace Mothers and prisoners' relatives. Mother of Peace Bezo Oruç stated that all segments of society should embrace the actions of the prisoners and said: "We want all the prisoners to be released. We want this torture on our Leader to be lifted and liberated. The prisoners in prison are on hunger strike for the freedom of our Leader. We are here on duty for them."
WAN
The Justice sit-in action initiated by TUHAY-DER and the relatives of the prisoners continues on its 10th day. Residents of Selimbey and Yalı neighborhoods and Wan Çev-Der executives visited the guard.
Münife Kaçak, who visited the protest in support of the action, said that thousands of people are isolated in dungeons and said: “We want the isolation to be lifted and freedom to come. From now on, no mother should cry. The demands of those on hunger strike in prisons should be accepted as soon as possible."
ÇEV-DER President Ali Kalçık, who came to support the action, said: “I salute the Peace Mothers who continue this honorable struggle. These actions are very important for the liberation of Mr. Abdullah Öcalan, the indispensable value of the Kurdish people, from captivity and for the freedom of our friends in prisons."
AMED
The Justice Sit-in, which was initiated in Amed under the leadership of TUAY-DER, continued in the DEM Party's building in Rezan (Bağlar) district. A banner was hung in the hall where the protest was taking place: "Let's lift the isolation for justice, let's voice the dungeons for social peace. Activists wore white coats with the words 'Isolation is a crime against humanity.'"
Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Amed Provincial CoChair Sultan Yaray and many people visited the activists. Participants at the Justice Sit-in called for the isolation to be lifted. Activists continued their protests with the folk songs they sang.
