TANHAN WAS NOT RELEASED DESPITE 4 APPLICATIONS
Cemal Tanhan (68), who had been imprisoned in Bolu Type F Closed Prison for 30 years, was taken to Bolu İzzet Baysal State Hospital on 23 October after suffering a stroke. Due to the inadequacy of the hospital there, he was transferred to Eskişehir City Hospital General Surgery Department on October 27. Tanhan, whose release was postponed on November 6 upon the application, was intubated on November 13. Tanhan was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Tanhan, who lost his ability to speak during the treatment process, also developed pneumonia and his lungs collected water.
His daughter, Ayşe Tanhan, told Mezopotamya Agency that she had talked to her father's doctor about his health on November 27. Ayşe Tanhan said: "My father's doctor said that they removed the water accumulated in his lungs so they would change the medications he takes, if the treatment goes well, they would try to wake him up, in that way, maybe they could transfer him. But my father has been receiving treatment for a long time. His condition is getting worse every day because he is in prison. His treatment started late because he was ill. Maybe if he had been treated early and had been outside, he would not have become like this."
