ANKARA - TÜRK-İŞ's hunger and poverty figures have been announced. In November, the hunger line increased to 14 thousand 26 TL and the poverty line increased to 45 thousand 687 TL.
The November results of the "Hunger and Poverty Line Survey", which TÜRK-İŞ conducts every month to reveal the living conditions of employees and to determine the reflections of price changes in basic necessities on the family budget, have been announced. Accordingly, the hunger line increased to 14 thousand 026 TL and the poverty line increased to 45 thousand 687 TL in November.
ANNUAL INCREASE IN FOOD PRICES IS 80 PERCENT
According to the research, the monthly increase in food prices in November was 2.49 percent, while the annual increase was 80.12 percent. According to the research, the monthly food expenditure (hunger limit) that a family of four living in Ankara must make in order to have a healthy, balanced and adequate diet is 14 thousand 026 TL, and the amount of food expenditure plus clothing, housing (rent, electricity, water, fuel) is 14 thousand 026 TL. The total amount of other mandatory monthly expenses for transportation, education, health and similar needs (poverty limit) increased to 45 thousand 686.81 TL.
Another point that draws attention in the research is that the "cost of living" of a single employee increased to 18 thousand 239.8 TL per month.
