ISTANBUL - PKK and PAJK prisoners announced that they will carry out a rotating hunger strike between November 27 and February 15 within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue" campaign.
Making a statement on behalf of PKK and PAJK prisoners in prisons in Turkey and Kurdistan, Deniz Kaya stated that they will carry out a rotating hunger strike between November 27 and February 15 within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue" campaign. According to the news reported by Fırat News Agency, Kaya said: "Elderly, ill and prisoners with two years remaining sentences will not be included in the rotating hunger strikes. During the action process, all our friends must act in accordance with the planning and must definitely not resort to individual action styles. In this regard, we call on all our patriotic people, especially our families, our friendly circles, and all segments of society demanding democracy and freedom to embrace our campaign with their participation and write history together."
'WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY NEWS FOR THREE YEARS'
In the statement, it was stated that three years have passed since there was no news from PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and said: "Uninterrupted isolation has been continued for approximately 25 years since the first day of captivity. If there is no sound from İmralı, anything could be happening there in a negative sense. The Turkish tradition and what has been kept alive to this day make it natural for us to think like this. Because the real struggle is being waged in İmralı. The concept of total war, which started in 2015, started with the closure of Imrali's gates to the whole world. The intensity of the policy of massacre and intimidation carried out abroad is also an indication of how intense the struggle in Imrali is. The Imrali reality was created as a result of an international alliance and it is being implemented with the same alliance. Therefore, as long as the isolation and Imrali captivity continues, we will know that the interstate conspiracy continues. It is much more clear when we look at the past 25 years of practice that a strategic move was made towards the Middle East with Leader Apo's captivity. On this basis, although the Kurds suffered the most, the attack on Leader Apo was actually an attack on the democratic Middle East ideal. While the entire region was being redesigned, a strong potential that could benefit the people from this opportunity was initially intended to be neutralized. The global powers and their collaborators, who based their political calculations on the derivatives of nationalism and religiousism, did not want a discourse and action that was contrary to the status quo they had created."
'IT IS HAPPY TO SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN'
Drawing attention to that the solution to the Kurdish issue and Öcalan's physical freedom are the same thing, the statement included the following statements: "It is both a pleasure and a means to extinguish the fire of hell to see people from all nations lend their support to the 'Freedom for Leader Apo, Solution to the Kurdish Question' campaign. It is an expression of the determination to create heaven together. Leader Apo says, 'Revolution is the separation of what needs to happen and what does not need to happen.' AKP-MHP fascism distributes to all of us what is unnecessary to experience with its attacks. While the fascist regime imposes surrender on us and the guerrillas, it is trying to condemn the democratic public to daily efforts that barely aim to meet their biological needs. We, as PKK and PAJK prisoners, feel with our whole being all the actions carried out under conditions where conditions are getting worse and isolation is deepening day by day. No matter where we breathe, we will never give up our insistence on free life and our belief in the free and equal unity of our people, and we will try to be worthy of Leader Apo, the combination of all these ideals, with a greater level of determination and practicality."
