ANKARA - After the parliamentary elections, the reports of 27th term MPs, most of whom were HDP members, whose immunity was lifted, were sent to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
After the 28th Term of Parliamentary Elections held on May 14, 400 of the approximately one thousand reports on those who were returned by the Presidency of the Assembly and were not elected in the new legislative term were sent to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
The reports, most of which belonged to the MPs elected from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), were sent to the Ministry of Justice after the presidential process and then to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Parliamentary Crimes Investigation Bureau for the completion of the investigations. It is expected that approximately 600 cases still in the Ministry of Justice will be sent to the Chief Prosecutor's Office in the coming days.

400 cases that reached Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office were sent to the relevant investigation offices after the classification at the Parliamentary Crimes Investigation Bureau. Investigations into the proceedings of former MPs, including CHP Chairperson Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, will be carried out by the Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor. The records cover many allegations such as "propagandizing for a terrorist organization", "inciting the public to hatred and enmity", "insulting a public official" and "slander". The statements of former MPs who do not have legislative immunity can be taken within the scope of the investigation.
The Office of the Chief Prosecutor will be able to file a lawsuit against former MPs if sufficient evidence is obtained.
