DİYARBAKIR -MED TUHAD-FED Co-Chair Zeki Baran drew attention that the way out of the current crisis is through ensuring the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and called for action to counter the isolation.

 

There has been no news for more than 2 years from Ömer Hayri Konar, Veysi Aktaş and Hamili Yıldırım, who are in the same prison as PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who are held under heavy isolation conditions in İmralı Type F High Security Prison. Family and lawyer applications for Abdullah Öcalan and other prisoners are rejected on the grounds of "disciplinary" penalties. Responding to the application made by the lawyers, the Bursa Criminal Execution Judge rejected the application on the grounds of a ban on visiting a new family and lawyer. Zeki Baran, co-chairperson of the MED Federation of Detainees and Convict Families Legal and Solidarity Associations (MED TUHAD-FED), who evaluated the deepening isolation in Imrali and the absence of news, said that as a result of this, multiple crises were experienced in Turkey, and the solution was to ensure the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. highlighted that it is possible.

 

Emphasizing that the society needs to take action to end the isolation, Baran said: "Now, the isolation of Mr. Öcalan needs to be lifted not only, but also his physical freedom must be ensured."

 

'MULTIPLE CRISES ARE GOING DEEP'

 

Stating that the insensitivity of non-governmental organizations, democratic mass organizations and political parties to the isolation on the PKK Leader led to multiple crises as a whole, Baran said: “We have experienced many times that the society breathes when we communicate with Mr. Öcalan. When it was pursued vague and futile efforts or walking persistently on this path when a tried-and-true result is evident will not benefit anyone.

Especially the Kurdish society, Kurdish democratic institutions and political parties as a whole should lead to all age, not only to end the isolation or to end the state of miscommunication against Mr. Öcalan as soon as possible. After this point, what is essential and must be realized as soon as possible is the physical freedom of Mr. Öcalan.”
