ADANA - ESP and SGDF members, who carried the hunger strike to end the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to Adana, called for solidarity and common struggle.
The hunger strike launched by the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) and the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF) against the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the violations of rights in prisons continues. After Izmir and Istanbul, the hunger strike moved to Adana. The hunger strike started with the press conference held at the Adana Branch of the Human Rights Association (İHD) with the slogan "We should raise solidarity and break the isolation". ESP Adana provincial manager Emrah Topaloğlu and SGDF member Tuncay Yıldırım Özen will continue the hunger strike.
'THE ABSOLUTE ISOLATION SHOULD BE ENDED'
ESP and SGDF members as well as representatives of İHD, HDP, TÖP, EMEP and non-governmental organizations attended the press conference. Emrah Topaloğlu, who went on a hunger strike, stated that the hunger strike was moved to Adana after İzmir and İstanbul and drew attention to the isolation that spread throughout the country, starting from prisons. Referring to the situation of the ill prisoners, Topaloğlu said: "The situation of the ill prisoners was left to the initiative of the prison administrations and the ATK, and wanted the absolute isolation to end as soon as possible. The hunger strike will continue on a mobile basis and I calle for solidarity and common struggle."
'THE ISOLATION SHOULD BE ENDED'
Finally, Emrah Topaloğlu read the joint press text. The heaviest of rights violations were committed against Öcalan, who was kept in isolation in İmralı Prison, Topaloğlu said: “Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan has been completely cut off from the world because the fascist Palace regime has no choice but to increase oppression and terror, increase prisons, and increase the isolation in order to solve the problem of survivability. We have carried out our activities to end the violations of rights against all prisoners in prisons, including the isolation of Öcalan and the ban on meeting.
It was stated that Topaloğlu and Özen, who participated in the hunger strike, will visit some non-governmental organizations and political parties.
