DIYARBAKIR- Calling for participation in the rally to be held in Silopi tomorrow against Turkey's use of chemical weapons, HDP and DBP Diyarbakir provincial co-chairs said: "We should flow to Silopi. We should raise our voices against war and the use of chemicals.
While the public's condemnations against the use of chemical weapons against the HPG in Turkey's war against the Federated Kurdistan Region since April 17 continues, political parties and non-governmental organisations will organise a "Rally for Humanity" in the Silopi district of Şırnak tomorrow.
Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır Provincial Co-Chair Zeyyat Ceylan and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Diyarbakır Provincial Co-Chair Hayrettin Altun called on people to join the rally against the use of chemical weapons.
Reminding that the use of chemical weapons has been on the agenda for a long time, HDP Diyarbakır Provincial Co-Chair Ceylan said: “The Bashur government (Federated Kurdistan) has not done a good investigation on the issue. The latest shared videos affected people. The death of two people as a result of the weapons used in question has made a sound in Kurdistan, Turkey and the international public opinion.
'IT IS CLEAR THAT CHEMICAL WEAPONS WERE USED IN VIDEOS'
Stating that although the AKP-MHP government denies the images, everything is clear, Ceylan said: “They deny the images, they do not examine the chemical weapons. They denied that their soldiers had used such a weapon. But those who are experts in this business have confirmed the images. They said those images were not weapons used in a normal war environment. Şebnem Hoca had also requested an investigation. Impartial committees conduct investigations to detect chemical weapons and publish a report."
'WE SHOULD MARCH TO SİLOPİ'
Emphasizing that as HDP they stand against war and death, Ceylan continued: “We will start the Silopi rally under the leadership of HDP, DBP, DTK and TJA to draw attention to the issue. We should march to Silopi. People will be enlightened with this walk. First of all, we will stop the use of chemical weapons. Then we will stop these dirty wars because dozens of Kurdish and Turkish children are losing their lives in this war. That's why we are calling out to our people and those who want peace. We should raise our voice against war and the use of chemicals. We have this belief that a very strong voice will emerge in Silopi that day.”
