ŞIRNAK - Describing Kevser Ete from YJA-Star, one of the fighters who is in the videos shared by the HPG that shows two guerillas were killed as a result of a chemical gas, said: "They have been attacking with cannons and fighter jets for months and they couldn't succeed. They resisted with all their might."
The attacks launched by Turkey on April 17 against the Zap, Metina and Avaşîn regions in partnership with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) continue. Despite the support of the KDP, Turkey was not able to make any progress and resorted to chemical weapons and poisonous gases against HPG members. In its latest statement, HPG announced that 17 of its members lost their lives in chemical weapons attacks in August, September and October. In addition, images of those who lost their lives in the chemical weapons attack on October 18 were released. YJA-Star member Kevser Ete (Helbest Koçerîn), who died after being exposed to chemical weapons, was one of the 2 guerillas in the video.
'SHE RESISTED WITH ALL HER MIGHT'
Mother Leyla Ete (50) stated that her daughter shouldered the burden of life at a young age and said: "I did not know that she would join the guerrilla before she went. She took me to the hospital even on the day she left. Then we came home and said, 'Mom, buy me a gold ring'. I bought her a gold ring. She left after that. She never accepted cruelty and tyranny. We lost our jobs after she left. We didn't want to stay in Eruh anymore. Then we went to the cities of Turkey to earn our livelihood. We stayed in Manisa for 4 years. Helbest was an honorable and honorable woman. She was very resistant. I'm proud of her. Condolences to the Kurdish people. She is a martyr not only for me, but for the whole of Kurdistan. I hope that all Kurds will embrace her. Everyone should wake up now. No one should accept the chemical weapon attacks. They have been attacking with cannons and fighter jets for months, but they failed. Because they failed, they used chemical weapons. Heval Helbest resisted fiercely and with all her might, but betrayal killed her.”
'WHEN I SAW THAT VIDEO'
Mother Ete told how she felt when she saw the video her daughter was exposed to chemicals and said: "I was devastated when I saw it. Neither I nor his father could sleep until morning. Then I said to myself, 'I am not alone, there are 17 more families who lost their children to these chemical attacks, I am like those families. How lucky am I that my daughter gave her life for this cause. We all suffer as one. They could not fight them, so they killed them by betrayel. No one should remain silent. Helbest was a well-known commander. I'm sorry, but I'm as proud as I am sad. My daughter gave her life for honor and dignity.”
'BARZANİ IS THE BIGGEST TRAITOR'
Pointing out that Kurds have been through the worst because of the betrayel of KDP, Father Ete (51) said: "Her death not only broke my heart but also broke the hearts of all of Kurdistan. We should do our part. We have to unite. I am the father of all guerillas. I curse those traitors who went into those tunnels in Besta with the enemy. The biggest traitor is Barzani. He sold himself for money."
Emphasizing that he is proud of her daughter, father Ete said: "Condolences to the honourable Kurds. We are afraid of no one. One should have honour and nothing more."
