HAKKARI - It was learned that at least 3 police officers were injured in the explosion that took place in Yüksekova yesterday evening.

 

Two explosions took place between 22:00 and 01:00 yesterday evening, near the 75th Yıl Police Station in the Kışla neighborhood of Yüksekova district of Hakkari. After the explosion, fire was opened on the armored vehicle, which was going from the Kışla neighborhood to the Orman neighborhood, and was carrying the special operations police. Afterwards, gunshots were heard in the area for a long time. According to the information received, at least 3 police officers were injured. According to the information obtained, one of the police officers was in serious condition. It was stated that the injured police officers were taken to the Field Hospital.

After the explosion, the neighborhood was besieged by hundreds of police. Police raided some houses. It was reported that some people were exposed to violence and insults. After the explosion, the cameras in the police station were changed. In addition, the guardrails of the police station were strengthened and the surrounding area was closed with steel shields. Hundreds of police continue to search the houses in the Orman and Kışla neighborhoods. The graffiti4es "Bijî Serok Apo" and "Greetings to those who resisted from Avaşîn to Zap" on the walls in the neighborhood were covered with paint.
