URFA - ÖHD Diyarbakır Branch and Rosa Women's Association visited the Şenyaşar family, who is on a sit-in in front of the Urfa Courthouse.
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 562. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. The family, who came to the Urfa Courthouse from their house in Suruç early in the morning. Emine Şenyaşar and her son started the sit-in early in the morning in the area called “Şenyaşar family justice corner” in front of the Urfa Courthouse. The family hung a banner reading "Justice for the Şenyaşar family, justice for all" on the concrete blocks in front of the courthouse. The family was visited today by the Rosa Women's Association executives and the members of the Diyarbakır Branch Board of the Association for Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD).
Speaking at the visit, Rosa Women's Association Director Neslihan Çoban said: “Emine Şenyaşar continues her sit-in at these court doors. The family was not even allowed to mourn. Every minute every second she has this trauma at these doors. This tragedy needs to be brought to an end and public pressure should be created in order to ensure justice."
