We went out in a great hurry and tried to go to the scene. Those who got there saw that my grandson was covered in blood on the floor. We thought he was dead. No one could take him to the hospital because he lost a lot of blood. Meanwhile, the boy's mother begged the soldiers to help or send a vehicle. But she didn't get an answer. Then those who went there took my grandson on their back and brought him to the village, then they took him to Başkale for hospital.”

All the villagers know that these mines have just been placed recently.”
BACKGROUND
As a result of the explosion of a military object in Baskale district of Van, 12-year-old H.E. was seriously injured. The soldiers had not helped H.E. to be transported to the hospital, despite the villagers' calls, so the villagers took H.E. on their backs and carried him to the village. After the incident, a report on the scene was prepared by the Güllük Gendarmerie Station. In the report, it was claimed that the police station camera, which can record 360 degrees, did not capture the moment of the explosion, that the place where the incident took place was a second-degree military forbidden zone, and that there were signs indicating that the land was mined. However, it turned out that the allegations in question did not reflect the truth. H.E.'s family attorneys filed a criminal complaint against those responsible.
