NEWS CENTER - PUK Politburo member Arêz Abdullah held the KDP responsible for Turkey's cross-border attacks and said, "This current policy towards Turkey is not the policy of the Kurdistan Region and the Kurdistan Region Government."
The cross-border operation launched against the Federated Kurdistan Region in partnership of the AKP-KDP continues on its 2nd day with intense clashes. Arêz Abdullah, a member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Politburo, who held the KDP responsible for the operation, which caused reactions from many circles, underlined that this is not a policy of the Federated Kurdistan Regional Government.
'TURKISN INVASION STARTED'
Speaking to Rojnews about the cross-border attacks, PUK Politburo member Arêz Abdullah stated that Turkey has started to "occupy" the Federated Kurdistan Region and emphasized that the Kurdish problem cannot be solved with attacks.
'KDP IS RESPONSIBLE'
Expressing that Turkey cannot launch a cross-border attack without the help of the KDP, Abdullah said, “This current policy towards Turkey is not the policy of the Kurdistan Region or the Kurdistan Regional Government. For better or worse, only the KDP is responsible for this policy. The attack took place after the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister's visit to Turkey. Turkey still does not attach importance to the status of the Kurdistan Region. If this is what Turkey thinks about the Kurdistan Region, what should we do against it?”
DANGER TO REGIONAL STATUS
Stating that a solution to the Kurdish problem would be in Turkey's interest, Arêz Abdullah said, "Old mistakes were repeated again, and the policy of failure was implemented. The attack harms the people of the region and provides an excuse for Turkey to establish bases in the region. Turkey tried to be permanent wherever it occupied in the past. This attack is very dangerous not only for the future of the Kurdish people, but also for the Kurdistan Region, the status of the Regional Government and the KDP."
