URFA - As part of the celebration to be held for the 73rd birthday of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, a march began towards Amara.
On the occasion of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan's 73rd birthday, a rally was organised by the leadership of MED Law and Solidarity Associations for the Families of Prisoners and Convicts Federation (MED TUHAD-FED), Democratic Society Congress (DTK), Free Women's Movement (TJA), Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). Citizens who wanted to participate in the celebration since yesterday evening, have been on the way to Halfeti despite the obstacles. Gathering on the Amara road, the groups shouts the slogan, "Rojbûna te piroz be ey Serok Apo (Happy birthday President Apo)" and dancing the traditional Kurdish dance, Halay.
DTK Co-chair Berdan Öztürk, DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz, HDP Spokesperson Ebru Günay, members of parliament and hundreds of people gathered at the entrance of Halfeti. It is expected that the march towards Amara will begin when those who set out from all districts reach the Halfeti entrance.
People continue to wait for others to arrive while dancing the Halay and shouting the slogan, "We will foist the world without Öcalan,upon your head."
