ISTANBUL - The application of Asrın Law Office to Bursa Execution Judge for a request that their clients, held in Imrali, to visit their families was rejected once again on the grounds of a 3-month family visit ban.
Lawyers of Asrın Law Office applied to Bursa Execution Judgeship on November 22, 2021, requesting an "immediate visit" with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan who is held under heavy isolation conditions and prisoners who are Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş in İmralı High Security Type F Prison. Responding to the lawyers' application on the same day, the judge revealed that two new bans on Öcalan were issued. Bursa Execution Judgeship, rejected the application for a lawyer's visit on grounds of a 6-month ban on Öcalan given by the court on October 12. In its refusal decision regarding the family visit, the judge presented the decision of the Disciplinary Board of the Imralı Penal Institution Directorate dated August 18, regarding a new ban on visitors for a period of 3 months.
ATTORNEYS MADE ANOTHER APPLICATION
Although the ban on family visits ended on November 18, 2021, the lawyers once again applied to Bursa Execution Judge on March 28 to remove all unlawful obstacles to family visits and requested a family visit.
NEW DISCIPLINARY PUNISHMENT
Responding to the lawyers' application on March 29, the judge rejected the application. In the reasoning for the refusal, the judge conveyed that there was a another disciplinary punishment against Öcalan, and therefore the visting could not be held.
REJECTED FOR THE 10TH TIME
With the rejection of the application, it became the 10th disciplinary penalty to prevent family visits since 2018.
LAWYERS OBJECTED TO THE DECISION
Lawyers of Asrın Law Office appealed against the decision of the Court of Execution and the disciplinary punishment after the applications were rejected.
