İSTANBUL - Twitter has suspended the Twitter account of our agency (@MAturkce) for five hours, banning us to post anything in that time due to news of violence in a dormitory of a religious congregation.
Twitter suspended our agency's @MAturkce account for 5 hours, as we published the news about an employer who was detained and referred to the courthouse after the footage of him being violent towards students in a private male dormitory belonging to a sect in Istanbul Esenler was leaked. A.E, the employer of the said dormitory, beat the students studying around a table and was detained when the footage was leaked. A.W was referred to Bakırköy Courthouse after his proceedings in the security directorate. Suspect A.E told that he regretted his actions he had done in a momentary anger. A.E was arrested by the court and sent to prison with the accusation of 'actual bodily harm'.
Since we broadcast the violence experienced in the aforesaid sect, Twitter has restricted our agency's @MAturkce account, which has more than 170,000 followers and banned us from posting anything in the next 5 hours.
