DİYARBAKIR - 80-year-old cancer patient Abdullah Boran, who has been imprisoned for nearly 26 years, died in the hospital where he was treated.
Abdullah Boran, an 80-year-old cancer patient held in Diyarbakır D Type Closed Prison, passed away in Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital last night. Upon receiving the news, the family took Bora's body from the hospital and took it to Bismil to be laid to rest. Many people, including the executives of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP), attended the funeral.
HE HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR 26 YEARS
It was learned that Boran was arrested after being taken into custody in 1997 and sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for "destroying the unity and integrity of the state." It was reported that he was treated in handcuffs in the intensive care unit of Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital.
