DİYARBAKIR - Ahmet Türk, who called for national unity with the Kurdistani parties from Diyarbakır Newroz, said, "Now is the time to come together, to establish a common law."
The final Newroz celebration held in Diyarbakır with the slogan "Dem dema serkeftinê ye" (Now is the time to win) continues with hundreds of thousands of people who overcame all obstacles despite the Diyarbakır Police's provocation attempts. Hundreds of thousands filled the Newroz square and danced halay, accompanied by the songs sang by Hozan Kazo.
KURDS ARE STANDING UP FOR THEIR FREEDOM
Newroz celebrations continued with Kurdish parties within the Kurdistani Alliance Group taking the stage to salute hundreds of thousands. Kurdish politician Ahmet Türk, who took the stage with the Kurdish parties, greeted the people. Ahmet Türk, who was applauded for a long time, said, “Rengin Amed, I offer my greetings and respects. I greet you with the warmth of the Newroz fire. Women and youth are standing up for the future and freedom of the Kurdish people. We stand up every day for the future of the Kurds. We thank our people, we salute their resistance. Newroz is celebrated in the Middle East and the Caucasus. Newroz is the resistance of our people."
TURK: THE VOICE OF THE KURDISH PEOPLE RISES
Türk continued: “Those who want to silence the Kurdish people's are mistaken. The voice of the Kurdish people is rising day by day. There is great persecution against Kurdish politicians. Thousands of Kurdish politicians are in dundeons. Even they are now in those dungeons, their souls are with us in Amed Newroz.
ISOLATING KURDS IS IN VAIN
Türk said: "Today, a very deep isolation is imposed on our people. Mr. Öcalan has been in severe isolation conditions for 5 years. His family and lawyers cannot visit him. The Kurdish people will frustrate this policy. For years, my friend Aysel Tuğluk has been in a difficult situation due to her illness. She is held in a dungeon despite her condition. it is neither humane nor moral. She is persecuted, although she should have been released due to her illness."
CALL FOR NATIONAL UNITY
Turk continued as follows: "The world is changing. A new order is being built. The war between Russia and Ukraine is a war that we should learn from. Today, all the leaders in Ukraine, who have fought each other in the past and faced each other in the elections, are fighting against Russia in unity and solidarity. Despite heavy pressures on the Kurds in Kurdistan, Kurdish politicians do not agree with each other in four parts of Kurdistan. We are calling on from Amed; Now is the time to come together, to unite. Kurdish people will not forgive the Kurdish leaders who refuses to unite. We have to adabt to this new era to strengthen democratic politics, and to gather our people around common values. I want our people to believe this. This government is at the end of the road. We will continue to be here, we will gain our rights. We will fight until the end.”
