MALATYA - Killed by a bullet from the gun of a police officer, Kemal Kurkut was commemorated upon his grave.
Kemal Kurkut, who was killed by a police bullet in Diyarbakır's 2017 Newroz, was commemorated upon his grave on the 5th anniversary of his death. At the commemoration held at the Toptaş Cemetery in the central Batalgazi district of Malatya, Kurkut's favorite violin was placed on his grave. Kurkut's family, HDP Batman Deputy Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki and provincial organization executives and many people attended the commemoration.
Embracing her son's gravestone, Secan Kurkut lamented in Kurdish.
Speaking at the commemoration, Tiryaki said: "Kemal Kurkut is commemorated not onlu in Malatya but also in Amed and all other cities. He will never be forgotton and Kemal Kurkut will be commemorated at every Newroz celebration.
