MARDIN - Stating that Newroz is the "Day of Freedom" for Kurds, Kurdish politician Ahmet Türk, said, "I invite our people to join the Newroz celebrations so that Newroz will be more enthusiastic and there will be more participation. Participating in Newroz celebrations is our duty.”
Preparations for the Newroz celebrations, which will be held in many cities this year with the slogan "Dem dema serkeftinê (Now is the time to win)", continue. Kurdish politician Ahmet Türk made an assessment to the Mesopotamia Agency (MA) regarding the Newroz celebrations where demands such as PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan's freedom, the end of the isolation in Imrali, the solution of the Kurdish question, national unity and the release of ill prisoners will come to the fore.
'NEWROZ IS THE DAY OF FREEDOM'
Starting his speech by celebrating the Newroz of the crowd, Ahmet Türk said that Newroz is a very important day for the people of the Middle East and Caucasus, but it was more important for the Kurds. Türk said: "Newroz is a day of freedom for us. For us, it is a day to protect our identity. For us, it is the day to determine the future. It is the symbol of our struggle. Newroz celebrations have always ben joyful for us. Indeed, we have always experienced the happiness of the messages given at Newroz and the participation of our people in Newroz, expressing their demands very clearly. I believe we will experience that happiness again today."
Expressing that the Kurds' Newroz celebrations are valued by everyone and that the eyes of the world are on the Kurds, Türk said, "Everyone asks how many people will attend the celebrations. They are watching how the turn out will be."

'THE MESSAGE WILL BE OUR DETERMINATION'
Türk addressed the people, “Make sure to celebrate Newroz in great numbers, this day of freedom. Celebrate Newroz with great enthusiasm". Türk said; "It is very important for our future that our people meet around common democratic values and express their thoughts and ideas about the future. The main message will be our determination."
