URFA - Continuing the struggle for justice with his mother for the last 358 days, Ferit Şenyaşar said: "We will remain at the door of this courthouse until we get justice."
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 358. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives, in Suruç province of Urfa, on 14 June 2018. The family that comes from their house 42 kilometers away from the courthouse arrived early in the morning and started the sit-in for the day, right in front of the enterance of the building.
The police warned the family to leave the premises. However Ferit Şenyaşar told the police that they won't leave until they get justice and continued to sit there with his mother.
Speaking about the Justice Watch that continues for almost a year now, and underlining that they demand the release of his brother Fadıl Şenyaşar who is held in solitary confinement for 4 years unlawfully, Şenyaşar said: "Even though the court board in Antep Regional Court did not respond to us because they are 'neutral', we submitted our petition and staged a sit-in for one day. Today we are back in front of the Urfa Courthouse It has been 4 years since our family members were killed. Not one single person was arrested for their murders. The whole world knows that this is not fair and this is unlawful. These murders are on the agenda of the parliament. We will not leave here until we get justice. Justice will one day come."
The family shared the following message from their Twitter account: "A person is as valuable as they resist oppression and injustice. Our struggle for rights, law and justice continues at the gate of Şanlıurfa Palace of Justice on the 358th day."
