ISTANBUL - HDP Esenyurt District Organization executives and TJA activists protesting the murder of Deniz Poyraz were detained in a raid on their homes early this morning.
At least 4 people, including Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Esenyurt district administrators and Free Women's Movement (TJA) activists, were detained in house raids in Istanbul early this morning. It was learned that the houses of all HDP Esenyurt District administrators were thoroughly searched.
"Participating in actions to protest the murder of Deniz Poyraz" was cited as the reason for the detention operation.
Following the searches conducted in the houses, TJA activist Saliha Yiyor, HDP Esenyurt district manager Kerem İpekli, HDP Esenyurt former co-chair Nedim Karçık and Hanım Sever were detained.
