URFA - Stating that there has been no communication with İmralı after the telephone call was interrupter while he was speaking to his brother PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, from the prosecutor's office, Mehmet Öcalan demanded a contact visit for the Eid.
PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has been under severe isolation for 22 years in the Imrali High Security F-Type Closed Prison, is not allowed to meet with his family and lawyers despite all applications. Öcalan, who was able to make two phone calls during his 22 years in İmralı, gave the message, "The government is playing this wrong and so do you. This is not legal nor right. I want my lawyers to come here and see me."
48 DAYS HAVE LEFT SINCE THE PHONECALL
It was announced by the Ministry of Justice that those in prison will be allowed to meet for holidays and official holidays, and video calls will be provided within the scope of the "e-vision" project this year. No answers have been given to the lawyers and the faily of Öcalan although they have made countless applications to the Bursa Chief Prosecutor's Office. Mehmet Öcalan said: "Both us and my brother's lawyers apply for a visit every week, but they do not give any answers. We have legal and democratic rights. These rights must be provided for us."
THERE IS NO LAW IN IMRALI
Underlining that his brother is a political prisoner, Öcalan said: "We do not demand privilages. We demand our basic rights. We demand to see him face to face. There is no law in İmralı Island. They call us there whenever they feel like it. A person has democratic rights. Our demand is to see him face to face as soon as possible. I condemn those who do not provide us our rights. There's nothing else to be said."
