ANKARA - Workers and labourers taken to streets despite the lock down due to the pandemic, marched for May Day. Intervening in the marches, the police detained many people, including our reporter Ceylan Şahinli.
Despite the ban, a march was held in different parts of Ankara on the occasion of May 1.
Students who gathered in the 100th Year district of Ankara, celebrated May Day. 8 of the students were detained.
OUR REPORTER WAS DETAINED
A group of members of the Independent Revolutionary Class Platform (BDSP) and New Democrat Youth also marched on May 1 in the Şahintepe District of Mamak. Police attacked the group marching with a banner written, "Long live May 1, Bijî Yek Gulan". 5 people including our reporter Ceylan Şahinli was detained.
POLICE CRUSHED REPORTERS CELL PHONE
Members of the Laborer Movement Party (EHP) protested the bans while celebrating May 1 with their march in Sakarya Square. Attacking the group, police detained 7 EHP members. The police also took Yol TV reporter Özge Uyanık's phone, throw it on the ground and crushed it. Police removed the press from the area.
