NEWS CENTER - At least 55 people were detained when the Internal Security Orders attacked the march in Sulaymaniyah organized to protest the Turkish army operation. Among the detained was ANF journalist Rêbaz Hesen.
The operation launched by the Turkish Armed Forces in the regions of Metina, Avashin and Zap on the night between 23 and 24 April was protested with a mass march in Sulaimaniya on 25 April. At least 55 people, including ANF journalist Rêbaz Hesen, were detained when Sulaymaniyah Asayishi (Internal Security Forces) attacked the march.
Diyari Mihemed, head of the Center for the Protection of Journalists' Rights (METRO), demanded the release of ANF journalist Rêbaz Hesen.
In a statement to ANF, Mihemed called on the South Kurdistan security forces to respect the work of journalists. “We ask the police to respect the journalists during the protest.”
