ANKARA - Attorneys who were not allowed in the court room broke through the police barriers and entered the hall, demanding the riot police to be removed from their seats. The hearing was adjourned for an hour.
The first hearing of the Kobanê Case in which 108 people, 28 of whom are currently detained pending trial, including Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş, former Co-Chairs of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) started with the identification of the complainants without a lawyer.
POLICE BARRICADES
The lawyers who left the courtroom because their colleagues were not allowed in court, entered the court room breaking through the police barriers. The riot police tried to stop the lawyers.
Trying to stop the lawyers from entering the room, the police attacked the lawyers with batons and shields.
ATTORNEYS: REMOVE THE RIOT POLICE FROM OUR SEATS
Entering the court room, the lawyers demanded that the riot police placed in the seats reserved for lawyers to be removed. The hearing continues with the reading of the indictment.
The President of the Court Board adjourned the hearing for an hour.
