NEWS CENTER - 17 organizations in Germany, gave support to the campaign "The time has come: Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan for a fair peace in Turkey" which launched by the Kurdish Human Rights Action Group (KHRAG) and the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU).
From South Africa, the KHRAG and COSATU has launched a campaign for the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, "The time has come: Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan for a fair peace in Turkey."
Within the framework of the campaign launched in January and aimed to mobilize the United Nations (UN), an open letter was written to the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. In the letter, it was emphasized that the UN Committee Against Torture (CAT) and the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) should take urgent action against the aggravated isolation in İmralı.
17 organizations operating in Germany supported the campaign. The names of the organizations are as follows; "Red Aid (Rote Hilfe), youth organizations of the Green Party in the states of NRW and Hamburg, Grüne Jugend, Seebrücke Berlin, Campaign for Women Defending Rojava, Feminist movement called 'Joint Struggle' (Gemeinsam kämpfen), Campaign for Victims of Racist Police Violence (KOP), Kampagne Rheinmetall Entwaffnen, Rojava-Solibündnis Leipzig, Attac Hamburg, Antifa Lüneburg Unzen, Make Rojava Green Again, Communist Union Solidarity KOMintern, Antifaschistische Aktion Lüneburg / Uelzen, Migrantifa Berlin, Attac Dortmund, Feminist Party Die Frauen."
