DİYARBAKIR - The military operation launched in the Lice countryside continues. It was learned that the villagers were beaten and 4 people were detained in the raids on the houses in the villages.
The military operation, which started yesterday morning in the Dibek (Dêrxus) and Arıklı (Huseynik) and Karahasan neighborhoods in Diyarbakır's Lice district, continues. The houses in these neighborhoods which were under blockade and entry and exits were prohibited, were raided by the soldiers yesterday evening. While the police stormed the houses, it was stated that citizens were battered, threatened and insulted. It was learned that during house raids, 4 people, including 18-year-old shepherd Berat Akgeyik and Eyüp Özkan, were detained in the Karahasan Neighborhood.
While the military operation continued in the region, one of the citizens explained what happened as follows: "Our village is under blockade, we heard gunshots, then our house was raided and searched. We were threatened, "If anything happens to a single soldier here, you'll see what happens" the police told us. 18- year- old Berat Akgeyik, who worked as a shepherd with us, was handcuffed and taken into custody. He was beaten while they detained him.They didn't tell us why.."
