NEWS CENTER - Sultane Ahmed, the mother of journalist Süleyman Ahmed, who is held by the KDP security forces, pointed out that she had not heard from her son for 73 days and said: "KDP does not allow me to see my son."

There has been no news from Rojnews' Arabic editor Süleyman Ahmet for 73 days. While Ahmet was returning to the Federated Kurdistan Region from the city of Aleppo, where he went to visit his family, on October 25, he was held by units affiliated with the KDP at the Pêşxabûr (Sêmalka) Border Gate. Duhok Public Order, affiliated with KDP, made a statement 6 days later and made some claims that Ahmet is not a journalist.

His lawyers applied to the Duhok Public Order Office to meet with Ahmet and received a response that the file was under the control of Parastin (KDP's intelligence agency) and they were prevented from meeting with their client on the grounds that the investigation was still ongoing.

There was no statement about Ahmet from the KDP administration to which professional journalism organizations and non-governmental organizations made calls.

'WHERE IS MY SON BEING HELD?'

Ahmet's family is worried because they cannot hear from their child. Speaking to ANHA, Ahmet's mother, Sultane Ahmet, appealed to the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria for her son. Mother Ahmet said: "KDP has not allowed me to see my son for 73 days. My son did not steal, he did not do anything secret, he worked as a journalist. What did my son do? I am very curious, let them tell me. Why is my son not released and his situation is not clarified? I want my son's situation to be announced as soon as possible. I want to know where my son is and where he is being held. KDP should leave party interests aside and allow lawyers to meet with my son as soon as possible."
