House raids in 32 cities: Hundreds of detentions

NEWS CENTER – Many people, including DEM Party executives, were detained in house raids in 32 cities, especially Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir.
 
Hundreds of people, including representatives of the DEM Party and non-governmental organizations, were detained in house raids in 32 cities, especially Ankara, Istanbul, Tekirdağ, Dîlok, Bursa and İzmir.
 
As part of an investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a detention order was issued for 17 people on the grounds of "terrorism propaganda". It was stated that 11 people, including the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Esenyurt and Başakşehir district administrators, were detained in the raids on many houses in Ataşehir, Avcılar, Bağcılar, Bakırköy, Başakşehir, Esenyurt, Esenler, Güngören, Küçükçekmece, Sultangazi and Silivri.
 
9 PEOPLE WERE DETAINED IN TEKİRDAĞ
 
While it was stated that many houses were raided in Tekirdağ, Bursa, Çanakkale and Kocaeli, it was learned that 9 people were detained in Tekirdağ.
 
Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a detention order against 20 people on the grounds that they were "propagating for a terrorist organization". It was stated that a citizen named Murat Çoban was detained in the house raids carried out in this context and taken to Ankara Police Department.
  
HOUSE RAID IN DÎLOK
 
Fatma Vesek, whose house was raided in the morning hours in Dumlupınar District in the central Şahinbey district of Dîlok(Gaziantep), was taken into custody. It was stated that the house of Vesek, who was detained on the grounds of "propagandizing for a terrorist organization", was destroyed by the police. It was recorded that the police threatened and insulted the family members at home.
 
Vesek was taken into custody and taken to Antep Police Department.
 
ANYAKAYDER COCHAIRS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
 
In Izmir, 4 people were detained during police raids on many houses early in the morning. It was learned that Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA) activist Emine İnan, Anatolian Assistance and Solidarity Association with Those Who Lost Their Relatives (ANYAKAYDER) CoChairs Rahime Turan and Mikail Atan, and association manager Zarife Sungur were detained during the raids.
 
While no information was received about the reason for the detentions, 4 people were taken to Izmir Provincial Police Department in Çankaya after health checks.
 
WAN, ERZIROM, COLEMÊRG AND BEDLÎS
 
As part of an investigation carried out by the Hakkari Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, house raids were carried out in Colemêrg(Hakkari) and Şemzînan (Şemdinli) districts. It was learned that Ahmet Durmaz and his wife Şehirvan Durmaz were detained in the center of Colemêrg during the raids, and Birhat Uysal and Halil Saraç were detained in Şemzînan. It was stated that those who were detained on the grounds of "a terrorist organization propaganda" were taken to Hakkari Provincial Police Department.
 
Two people were detained during house raids in Xinûs (Hınıs) and Qereçoban (Karaçoban) districts of Erzirom(Erzurum). While Ruşen Fırat was detained during the house raid in Hinûs, it was stated that a young man who went to work in another city from Qereçoban was also detained at the entrance of the district.
 
While Şevin Bartu was detained early in the morning house raid in Wan(Van), it was stated that Aydın Tanrı was beaten and detained in the raid in Tetwan district of Bedlîs(Bitlis).
 
THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR: 208 PEOPLE WERE DETAINED
 
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya, in his post on his social media account, noted that 208 people were detained in house raids in 32 cities.
