AKP self-dustructed, Öcalan's solution power increased

ANKARA - Pointing to the statement, PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan said: “If the AKP becomes authoritarian, it will end itself”. Öcalan has both proved his right and increased his solution power in the last 8 years.

In 2011 and 2012, when the war intensified, PKK and PAJK prisoners were arrested on September 12, 2012, the anniversary of the 1980 coup, PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan announced that they have started a hunger strike to ensure freedom, health and security conditions as soon as possible and unconditionally, to end racist and denialist practices on mother tongue, and to remove barriers to education.

After Mehmet Öcalan's meeting on Imralı Island on November 17, 2012, the hunger strike actions were ended on November 18, 2012, upon the call of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Responding to Abdullah Öcalan's call, "The actions have reached their goal," the prisoners announced that they had ended the action and said: "We take our leadership as a basis and are ending our action."

After the demonstrations ended, the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Ahmet Türk and then Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Êlih Deputy Ayla Akat Ata visited İmralı Island on January 3, 2013, under the name of “solution” on April 5, 2015. It was the beginning of the process that would continue until It has been 8 years since the last meeting of the Abdullah Öcalan İmralı Delegation on April 5, 2015, after the AKP returned to its war codes. The AKP-MHP government, which has not taken a stand on the democratic solution of the Kurdish problem in the intervening 8 years, has repeatedly pushed the peoples of Turkey and Kurdistan into chaos processes with the war policies it has pursued despite all the peace efforts of Abdullah Öcalan in Imrali.

THE LONGSIGHTEDNESS OF ÖCALAN

Despite the warnings of Abdullah Öcalan that "if democratization does not develop, the coup mechanics will come into play" and "If the AKP imposes fascism, the guerrilla will start the real war", the AKP returned the war to its codes. Thousands of people lost their lives during the war. The policies of the government after April 5, when the talks were interrupted, once again proved Abdullah Öcalan right before history. In the 8 years that the isolation went beyond İmralı and spread to all the peoples of Turkey, there was a collapse in domestic and foreign politics in the country, and the crisis environments in many areas deepened.

'IF FASCISM IS IMPOSED, WAR WILL BEGIN'

Emphasizing that the AKP wanted to introduce a hegemonic Constitution, Abdullah Öcalan warned that this understanding at that time would first overthrow the AKP, and made the following assessments: “This law is based on provocation. October 6-7 was itself a provocation. Legislation on provocation only exacerbates the problem. What matters to me is the Constitution. This Security Act doesn't solve anything. Security measures, including the Security Act, are useless. If the Security Act is passed, it will hurt them the most. If AKP wants to become authoritarian, it will kill itself. If the AKP is not genuine, this time the guerrillas will start a real war. No deal, no solution, no peace, if he imposes fascism, war will begin.”

'READY FOR A SOLUTION'

Despite the fact that the government deepened the isolation and deepened the war in a direct proportion, the PKK leader expressed his insistence on a solution in the meeting he held with his lawyers 4 years later: “I say I will eliminate the possibility of conflict in a week. I solve it, I am confident, I am ready for a solution. However, both the state and the state mind must do what is necessary.”

'GOVERNMENT IS PLAYING WRONG'

Abdullah Öcalan, who could not be heard from for the last two years since this meeting, had an "interrupted" phone conversation lasting 4.5 minutes with his brother Mehmet Öcalan on March 25, 2021, due to the growing anxiety and intense reactions in the social media. In this interrupted meeting, Abdullah Öcalan drew attention to the current conditions in the country and warned, "The state is playing wrong."

THE SOLUTION POWER OF IMRALI

In 8 years ago, Abdullah Öcalan's statement, "If the AKP becomes authoritarian, it will end itself"  summarizes the current state of the government; however, the peoples of Turkey and Kurdistan, who are still fighting the reflections of the isolation in Imrali before the upcoming elections, once again pointed to Abdullah Öcalan's solution power in the Newroz squares.
