ANKARA - Announcing its decision in the 16th hearing of the Kobanê Case, the court stated that President Erdoğan could be heard if he can be brought by HDP members and their lawyers.
 
On the grounds of the protest demonstrations that took place on October 6-8, 2014 over the ISIS attacks on Kobanê, 108 people, 20 of whom were imprisoned, including the former Co-Chairs of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and members of the Central Executive Committee (MYK), were put on trial. The 16th hearing of the Kobanê Case, held at the Sincan Prison Campus Trial Hall, ended yesterday.
 
The interim decision of the court board for the 16th hearing was uploaded to UYAP(national judiciary informatics system).
 
DEMANDS OF LAWYERS AND POLITICIANS WERE REJECTED
 
In the rejection of the demands of lawyers and politicians, it was stated in the previous interim decisions, “ While the request was rejected, it was noted that then Minister of Interior Efkan Ala, MIT President Hakan Fidan, former MIT Undersecretary Emre Taner, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and President Tayyip Erdoğan will be heard if they are present in court by HDP members and their lawyers."
 
THE COURT DECIDED TO CONTINUE THE DETENTION OF 20 POLITICIANS
 
The court, which decided to continue the detention of 20 politicians with copy-paste statements, adjourned the hearing for two weeks.
 
The next hearing period has been determined as September 26-27-29-30, October 03-04-06-07.
