A magnificent Newroz celebration was held in Diyarbakır yesterday with the participation of more than 1 million people. Colorful images emerged in the area with the participation of people of all ages. Some photos taken by Mesopotamia Agency (MA) is as follows: 

 

* Despite all the obstacles, more than 1 million people attended the celebrations. 

 

 

* 2022 Diyarbakir Newroz once again made a mark in history with the huge crowd enjoying it

 

 

* The young people who came to the area first broke through the 3-meter-long wires established by the police and took a souvenir photo on it. 

 

 

* Tens of thousands of people held waiting at the check points for a long time. The police allowed the people's enterance seeing the insistance of the people

* Women from Botan came to the Diyarbakır Newroz celebrations.

* Majority of those who came to the celebrations were the younger generation

 

 

* Red, yellow and green were dominant in the area.

 

 

* People wore local dresses despite the police interventions.

 

 

* Banned posters of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan was flashed in the Newroz celebration area.

 

 

* Children made the celebrations more festive.

 

 

* Excitement rose after the Newroz fire was lit

 

 

* A very large photo of Deniz Poyraz who was murdered by the police was hung in the area

 

 

* The joy of the people were visible.

 

 

* People shouted the slogan 'Biji Serok Apo' while messages about Öcalan were read

 

 

* Young people tossed eachother up

 

 

* People started the Newroz fire with their clothes

 

 

* Tension rose between the police and the youth when the police entered the fenced area

 

 

* Police had to withdraw when people insisted on entering the fenced area.

 

 

* The joy of the women in colourful dresses continued through out the day.

 

 

* Mothers enjoyed the day through out the day.

 

 

* The parties involved in the Kurdistani Alliance Work greeted the participants of the celebrations together. 

 

 

* Drummers spiked the mood of joy in the area.

 

 

* Souvenir photographs were taken.

 

 

* Police used gas bombs on the people.

 

 

* There were clashes with the police in the city

 

 

* Young men and women responded to the police with stones.

 

 

* A lot of children got lost. They were collected by their parents with the announces from the stage.

* Hundreds of people were detained through out the day.
