DİYARBAKIR - DBB trustee Hasan Basri Güzeloğlu fired 7 people working at the the Department of Culture and Social Affairs. Lisa Çalan, who lost both legs in the ISIS bomb attack, is among those whose labour contracts cancelled.

Hasan Basri Güzeloğlu, the trustee appointed to the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, fired 8 people along with Lisa Çalan, who lost both her legs in the ISIS bomb attack on the election rally organized by the People's Democratic Party (HDP) on 5 June 2015. Çalan, who has been working as a stage designer at DBB Department of Culture and Social Affairs since 2016, Ruknettin Gün who was dismissed by the former trustee Cumali Atilla in 2016 but returned to work with a court order, Rezan Kaya, Zeycan Ateş, Sarya Yiğit Cengiz, Abdulhalim Biçer, Islam Dagdeviren, and Hoşyar Öncü was also fired because 'there was no need for their positions'. Sarya Yiğit Cengiz gave birth 8 days ago and she was on maternity leave.

Çalan whom we reached by phone said: "They told us that there was no need for our positions." Çalan stating that she has a medical report and the other 7 people were reinstated by court order, said: "I started working at the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality (DBB) in 2016. There was no trustee back then. When they appointed a trustee in 2016, I was in Ankara for treatment. I had many surgeries in the last 4 years. I had an open wound so I could not get out much, I had to be careful. I have been victimized. I went to court for justice. Now we will go back to the court for another kind of justice. The trustee fired us. We will take legal action for this. I have been spending most of my life in courts since the ISIS attack and now I have to go back and demand justice again. This time for my job."
