MERSİN - Gazi Muratoğlu from Tarsus Prison said the prison administration threatens the prisoners saying 'You don't deserve to live.'
Gazi Muratoğlu, a prisoner in Tarsus No 1 Type T Closed Prison told his mother at the visit on December 18 about the right violations in the prison. Muratoğlu told that the treatments of the sick prisoners are not being done and Nesip Yapıcı and Mustafa Abi's request to be transferred is not even processed.
SYSTEMATIC TORTURE CONTINUES
Muratoğlu, stating that 20 people in their ward are given food for 10, listed the violations of rights; "We are being threatened. The guards tell us 'You are PKK members, we can do anything that we want to you. You don't deserve to live'. The old and sick prisıners are being kept waiting at the corridors for hours before visitation. We can't meet our needs because the canteen is too expensive. All activities are banned. Our cargos are not being given to us. We are systematically being tortured. We are constantly being insulted by the guards in the corridors and during counts.
'I AM CONCERNED FOR THEIR LIVES'
Hanım Muratoğlu, whose two sons are in prison applied to Humans' Rights Association (İHD) about the increasing violations of rights in Tarsus Prison for legal aid. Mother Muratoğlu said that she is concerned for the lives of both of her sons as well as the other prisoners.
